Dear Kabbalah Centre Students: Only less than a month ago I asked you to participate in a Zohar scanning effort for the people of New York and New Jersey. Today, I am sending you this message because of the volatile state in the Middle East. This is a reminder for us that the time we are in has a potential for chaos that requires more of us and our spiritual work. You might know that the Zohar explains that the Middle East is a powerful source of energy for our world. If in a state of peace, the Middle East will radiate peace to the rest of the nations. If in a state of war, sadly, energy of destruction can be activated for all of us. It is for this reason that The Kabbalah Centre has for the last three decades provided Zohars to all the people of the Middle East—from civilians to soldiers, on all sides. Today, I ask you to use the energy of this coming Shabbat Toldot, as well as the Zohar in your possession, to send Light to those hundreds of thousands of Zohars that we put in... Read More

This week, we enter the month of Sagittarius, the month of Light and expansion. Sagittarius is one of the two signs ruled by the planet Jupiter, which is the largest planet in the solar system (about twice as large, in fact, as all of the other planets combined). Not surprisingly, therefore, this planet brings the energy of progress, vision, and of enlarging one’s scope of influence. Because Sagittarius is a sign of learning and growth, people born under the sign are often thinkers, writers, and scholars. For example, Mark Twain and George Elliot are both beloved Sagittarians. With an appreciation for people and animals as well as a simple directness in their approach to situations, Sagittarians tend to carry a certain lightness in the way they navigate through life. Unafraid to push the limits or to go where others do not dare, Sagittarians love and thrive on freedom and adventure. This month, each one of us will able to bring this expansive energy into our lives to forge a new... Read More

If you read inspirational stories, you will find that most of the people we call “heroes” are simply individuals who found a dark situation and had the passion and perseverance to create something positive-- in spite of it. One such inspiring example is Pushpa Basnet, a 2012 CNN Hero of the Year, who helped to develop a housing program for children of prisoners in Nepal after she learned that they were actually growing up incarcerated with their parents. This past week has also been full of powerful stories about men and women who are putting their all into making things better for their neighbors – and even for strangers – in the wake of Hurricane Sandy. Indeed, history teaches us that most of humanity’s greatest accomplishments have blossomed from the seeds of hard work and persistence sown on behalf of others in the face of difficulty. The same was true of Abraham in the Bible. If we look at Abraham’s life, we will see that he reached his high spiritual level because he passed... Read More
At times, it can be very easy for us to fall into a consciousness where we are preoccupied with just being alive and going through the motions. We work, we eat, we breathe, we sleep, and then we get up the next morning and do the same thing all over again. Indeed, how often have we thought, “Oh well, this is just the way it is...” Then there are also times in our lives when we may say, “You know there must be more than just this side of life. I’ve done it all. I’ve been there. I’ve taken whatever I had to take. I’ve been around the block and you know what? I still don’t feel fulfilled. There must be something that I can learn, something that will help me to not only avoid more chaos, but also to grow.” When we reach this place—this moment of clarity—we have reached a soul evolution, a new understanding of why we came into this world, that we are not here simply to go through the motions. A soul evolution is something that can only be earned through overcoming some sort of a challenge... Read More

In the midst of such chaos in my life, I have been able to find peace through studying Kabbalah. Without any doubts whatsoever, I would highly recommend anyone to call. I am so thankful for The Kabbalah Centre, because it has made all the difference in my spiritual growth and development.

Kabbalah is the best gift I have had this year. But it did not come easy. It is a result of a lot of hard, focused, and disciplined work my teacher guided me through. Often I had to go out of my comfort zone to apply the tools. But the satisfaction and confidence I now feel is indescribable.

Now I look back and question what exactly I did and how I managed without these teachings in my life.
