It’s that time again—another new moon. In a normal year as we complete the lunar month of Pisces, we should be entering the month of Aries. But this year, that’s not the case. We actually have another month of Pisces! Why? Well, the kabbalistic calendar is a lunar calendar based on the cycle of the moon, as opposed to the secular Gregorian calendar, which is based on the cycle of the sun. For the kabbalistic calendar to stay in sync with the solar, the sages added an extra month seven times every nineteen years. This extra month, known as Adar Bet, or Pisces II, began this Saturday night. Now you may be thinking: OK, if we need to add another month, why do we add another Pisces?
